Setting up the .NET MAUI development environment

This tutorial explains the steps a developer needs to follow to be able to develop and test native C# .NET MAUI applications for Android and OS devices. These steps include installing Visual Studio.

Prerequisite

As you setup your .NET MAUI development environment, make sure to also read the Setting up the Persistent Mobile Foundation development environment tutorial.

Development

• .NET MAUI applications are developed using Microsoft Visual Studio.

• Visual studio can be installed on Mac OS or Windows.

• Visual Studio can be downloaded at Visual Studio Downloads.
